Default clutch/brake fluid leak?

how do i go upon checking/fixing this? i noticed after i washed my car that there was a kinda clearish oily liquid coming from under the car, then i noticed a few days later that i was low on the fluid and i had an extremely hard time putting the car into gear. any info/help would be awesome. thanks.

Was the fluid found below the master or slave cylinder?
