ok so here is the low down

i had a d16z6 in my car and it started knockin so i went out and bought a d16zc vtec (japanese equivalent to d16z6).
vtec work before i changed the engine and now it doesn't want to work at all
i didn't change the in take manifolds but that shouldn't cause any problems right.
so i re-wired the ecu according to the pinout guides online and it still is throwing an engine light and vtec isn't working.

please shed some light on this problem im having.

 

what check engine light number is coming up, is it a p28 ecu and do you have enough oil,

 

yeah I heard in some cases vtec doesn't work if you have cels
