HELP!!!!!! Studs, are stripped!
OK i went to pep boys, and they replaced the studs, well i got home to take the shitty rims off where the Lug nuts only threaded a few times and they are stripped again, infact i think i stripped every single one of them.... now i can't put wheels on cause the lugs won't hold... so does anyone know if someone makes house calls, like if pep boys would come out here? or how do i do it myself, i'm gonna have to do all of them! i'm so pissed right now
go to a different place besides pepboys and ride on some donuts and be careful with how you drive.
get urself some stainless steel studs, or the extended ones AND some new lug nuts.

Here's what I learned from experience working on my 90 Teg three weeks ago:
I took the entire hub assembly off the car by unbolting the three bolts that have cotter pins running through them (may be different on the ITR). When I got the hub assembly off, I put it in a vice upside down so the hub itself was hanging off the bench. I attached the slide hammer to it and banged the **** out of it (haha) until it finally came apart.
Be careful when you use the slide hammer when taking the hub off though. If the bearing comes apart, you may f@#k it up. The bearing looks like a doughnut when it is completely together. If one side comes off, you will see the little sliver ball bearings. I ended up getting the stud in, but I had to buy a new bearing 2 weeks later do to the obnoxious squeeking coming from that wheel. The bearing was put in at my brothers shop with a press (what I should have done in the first place to get it apart).
If you know anybody that has a press, go there and leave the slide hammer in the box. The slide hammer can end up doing more damage than its worth, but may I did something wrong. Good luck.

wut i did was use a tap/die set and re tapped or whatever the studs so i could thread the lugs on, so i can drive it somewhere and have someone else do the fronts. but on one of the fronts, i took off the spindle nut, and my friend hit the hub assembly and it loosened a little , like the diffential cv joint moves with the Hub, so i'm wondering if i use a impact gun will it stop that very little movement? so i can put a wheel on and drive it to some place?
You need a slide hammer to take out the hub. And then use the axle nut, and some air tools to tighten it back in.
Get a hammer and hammer out the old studs. It would be MUCH easier to do this task if you have an air gun and a big 32mm socket to press back on the bearing.
Good luck.
hey guys, i went to autozone and they had the slide hammer, but didn't have the correct attachment for the lugs . so i got a tap and die set and i did it on the bolts and put my old rims on, it's on pretty good, just the tips were stripped. I'm going to go bring my car somewhere and have them do it. i'm just afraid when it comes to removing that stuff....
