Random problems..RPM's reading 400 too high and im running rich* jdm d15b
this past summer i swapped in a jdm d15b vtec in my eg and took out a gsr whose block i chipped from a car accident...i always had crazy problems with the gsr running very rich and i had to get it dynotuned just so i could handle being in my car and breathing because of how heavy the gas smell was. when i swapped in the jdm d15b everything runs fine but i take it to get smogged and they said its running too rich to pass so they didnt even smog it. they just put the stick in my exhaust to read the air/fuel...
i have a stock single cam vtec map running my car now pretty sure meant to run a d16z6..i dont know if its a performance map or just stock but my car is running rich and i can smell the gas like i used to be able to but not nearly as much. what do you guys think the problem could be? when i took the gsr apart the rings just shattered on 2 of the cylinders and the piston walls were scarred..so thats why i think i got a bunch of blowby and mad only 130hp on that motor...so that could be a reason why it was running which but could the fuel filter or something haveto do with it running rich??
or do you think its the map its on? it needs to be strictly for a jdm d15b...because people say the d16z6 runs it almost 100% perfect
and also out of no where 2 weeks ago my rpms just went crazy and they started rising way too fast...about 1000 rpms higher than where they would normally be at compared to my speed i was going...it ended up fixing itself later that day after i stopped then turned my car back on but now its doign it again but only about 400 rpms ahead of waht it should be....
usually id shift from 3rd to 4th at 3000 rpms at 47 mph....now when im at 47 mph shifting from 3rd to 4th its at 3500 rpms
now i just shift at 3500 instead of 3000 but i wonder why its like that? and my vtec pops a tad bit earlier than it did and my rev limit cuts out a little earlier than it did as well....the only thing i could think of is my ecu??? and its got a chrome pro chip in it but with just a base map on it. do u think i need to re burn a map on it because somehow this one is messed up? or is the whole ecu messed up?

and i also get about 25-28 mpg when i should be higher in the 30's....i just recently changed my spark plugs, oil, and it has a new intake/filter on it.... do you think i should mess with my distributor timing or could something with my distributor be affecting it. the guy told me to check my rotor/ cap...i dont know what that is other than its part of the dizzy. also the spark plug wires havent been changed since i bought the motor but im on a tight budget so i dont want to go out spending money on things that dont need to be changed
