Default Need to reduce PS pulley size, help please!

I have a unique situation with my 2000 Civic hatch.

I started off with a B16A swap from a 2000 Civic SiR (canadian) in my Civic hatch. Then I added a vortech blower to it. This summer I ended up melting piston #3 (stock internals). I always thought that if I ever had an engine failure that I would swap out my B16 for something bigger.

Well I bought a B18C1 block and had srp pistons (81.5mm 9.8:1) with eagle rods installed. When I finally got it all installed, my Vortech no longer lined up properly. I had to re-engineer the mounting brackets and raise everything approx 7mm to adjust for the new deck height.

Once I had everything lined up and working, I discovered that where the Vortech bracket places the Power Steering pump causes a problem. That PS pulley now sits too high and I can't install my drivers side headlight.....without the pulley touching it. I lowered the PS pump as low as it goes and it's still in the way.

If I can get a smaller PS pulley, then my problem will be solved. I measured my current pulley to be approx. 4.15". If I could get something around 3" my problem would be solved.

Does anyone know where I might find a compatable pulley??

I know I could go to a manual steering rack, but I would like to explore keeping my PS first.....

Thanks!

Notch the headlight housing, or go manual on the rack. Reducing the size of the power steering pulley will make it turn faster and that can't be good. Besides, it's more work.

You could maybe relocate the power steering pump...

i don't have the measurments for underdrive pulleys like AEM or Unorthadox. i want to say they are bigger than 3" though.

I don't run power steering and still have the assisted rack. you just loop the hosing back to the resevoir so that it still has fluid lubricating it. just my .02

if the PS spins faster I doubt it will be a problem. You could look for a pully out of a different car, because its just 1 bolt that holds the pully on. I would go to the junk yard to look for what you want.

I can't notch out the headlight. The pulley is making contact with the aiming adjusters.

I have the AEM under drive pulleys. They are much bigger.

So I deffinitely need to find a smaller spline drive pulley or remove my PS. (I prefer to keep it)
