Question on ls/vtec or crv/vtec on 88 CRX HF?
Trying to bulid a Drag car with 88 CRX HF Stock. What kind of setup shoould I go with ls/vtec or crv/vtec?
What kind of times am i looking at?
This is what I have for now...
Ls/Vtec setup
+ B18A Block
+ Skunk2 Stage 2 Cams
+ Skunk2 Manifold
+ ITR .25 mm Pistons
+ ITR Oil Pump
+ GSR Water Pump
+ GSR Timing Belt
+ AEM Cam Gears
+ AEM Fuel Rail
+ DC Sports Stainless Header
+ YS1 LSD Cable Tranny
+ PR3 Skunk2 or Mugen Chiped ECU
Or
CRV/Vtec setup almost same as above with few changes
+ B20 Block
+ Endyn Pistons
What do you think i will run in 1/4 miles?
Please let me know if I should get few other parts....

should run low 12's if car's suspension is setup right, I would get rid of the mugen ecu, and use a stock b16 pr3 with raised rev limit timming maps are better for b20 or ls. I went 12.4 with my b20 full cage stock injectors, 9000 rpm redline and a shity bog, if I ran it more all motor I am sure it would hit a low 12 high 11, car hit 109 in the traps no tunning, long story short go b20, hell sleve and go bigger than 85mm and get a fuel pump and some 310'sor 370's and a afc should rock, Jason
hey wassup jason its giovannie from nj the one with the chesie i just recently got a 91 hf and i wonder what a lsvtec would run with stock b18a1 blocks and b16 head with itr cams and an ls or b16 tranny.. i rember my friend steve jung ran 13.2 @ 100 with his ls vtec setup same weight as the hf possible i know there is alot of different factors that are invocled but you thin i should convert my ecu to a ob1 chipped p28 mugen ecu??

THe LS/VTEC's we have building with similar setups as yours are putting out high 12's and low 13's on stock ECU with no tuning and with stock cams.
I wouldnt get the B20 if it was me. The b20 and the LS cranks are the same, I'd just sleeve the ls block and work with that block instead of using a B20 block.

the b20 with any compression over 11.5:1 dont like anything over 32 advanced, thats why the mugen wont work well when setting distributor to stock 16 degrees timing, need ot bring it down to 12 or so before using mugen program.
