which slicks to use??
K I did a search and found some answers but not exactly what I was looking for. Want to run slicks on my stock gsr rims..I will be pushing around 350-400 hp to the wheels...will a 24x8.5x15 be best or something different..new to the whole slick idea, I want to get traction for once....
350-400hp and you don't have the money to buy a proper set of drag rims?
On a more serious note, 400hp and slicks on stock GSR wheels aren't really gonna work too well. Invest in some 13" drag wheels, like Lensos. They're somewhat inexpesive. 24.5x8x13" seems right.
will lenso wheels handle that much hp? and I know slicks will be better, but what are your 1/4 time gains with slicks over a bfgoodrich drag radial??
Dude... get real drag tires.
I am amazed sometimes when people spend all the money on the motor and ignore the most important part of the car--tires/wheels and suspension--which are also usually the cheapest to upgrade.
Get some M/T's and some Bogarts or Lensos or something... it will be worth the investment, even if you have to sell some of the go-fast or look-good parts of your ride.

I run a set of lenso toms and I have them wrapped with M/T 24.5x8x13 and they grab real good, Nothing like a good wrinkle wall to get the power to the ground
the GSR wheels are only a 6 inch wide i believe. you need at least a 7.5 inch wide rim to put most of the slicks on. and the GSR rims are pretty heavy.
You'll be able to push some 22x9x13, 24x8.5x13 on lensos or some Bogarts.
With your HP, you'll overpower the street radials easily.

If you're stuck on using stock rims, you can run the 22x8x15" slicks. They fit, and don't buldge out the sides too much. If you run Mickeys, I think they have a 23.5x8x15" that also fits.

thanks for the help..
i'm in the same boat as you man, i spent all my money on the damn motor and didn't think to much about getting all that power to the ground. Well i did, but a little to late. No i'm not talking about my current setup. Now i have to invest in an 8point roll cage, helmet, a better suspension, and slicks and skinnies. Oh well more ramon noodles. Good luck with your decision.
