if the sedan is the same as the coupe then you'll need a 6.5" woofer with a shallow mounting depth

A pretty good front speaker would be an Eclipse SP6510... http://www.eclipse-web.com/us/point/sp6910_6510.html, it is a standard 6.5" so it will fit the stock speaker housing, [mounting hole diameter] it is .25" too deep so either a .25" spacer is needed or you can cut a hole for the magnet in the back of the stock speaker housing.
For best possible sound replace the stock plastic speaker housings with custom MDF housings, a speaker mounted to wood will always sound better then the same speaker mounted to plastic, the custom MDF housing can also be made so you can fit an over-sized 6.5" speaker.
As for what is the best speaker for the doors of your car will depend on your budget and your taste, a speaker that sounds good to me may not sound good to you. 94

You can wire any speaker to your amp. What is the model # of your amp? If you wire a speaker to the amp that is rated for more than what the amp can produce you could have some serious problems. If you get a better, more powerful amp your speakers will be louder.
The guys at the shop are wrong, you can connect any amp to any speaker, it is how you set the amp up, [gain] that will make the diff.
You are far better off connecting a 2x200W RMS amp up to a pair of 100W continuous, [RMS] speakers then you are connecting a 2x100W RMS amp up to a pair of 200W continuous, [RMS] speakers, "it's better to be over-powered then under-powered", the 100W speaker has a max power handling of about 200W, because music is dynamic more then 100W of output from amp every few sec., [beat of the music] will not hurt the speaker because it will be "clean" undistorted power, [not clipping].
Over-powering will increase dynamic response, [dynamic headroom] keep signal "clean" at high volume levels, easier on speakers and amp will run cooler
The same goes for connecting a 100W amp to 200W speakers, obviously the 200W speakers can handle all of the 100W the amp can deliver, the problem is you can not drive the 200W speakers to their full potential without driving the amp into constant clipping, it is the clipping amp that damages the speaker.
I replace far more, [by a lot] damaged speakers on under-powered systems then ones on over-powered systems.
What is the model number of your Pioneer amp, or is that a secret94
