Default Help with speakers.

i have a 98 civic coupe. So it has 6x9 in the rear now and i was thinking of changing them to 6.5. I was told the best sound comes from a round speaker, so would there be any point in doing this?
i already have a alpine deck, 4 channle amp and subs,
i currently have cliff desings 6x9 in, and im giving all four 50 watts rms.

also any suggestions on speakers, my kicker 6.5s in front suck. and id like to change them as well.
budget isnt really a issue, but would like to stay around 150 per set.

Stick with the 6x9s in the rear, remove or disable the tweeters and wire them, [speakers] in series and connect them to the bridged rear channels of the amp for a mono rear fill.
Find a dealer and have a listen to a set of Eclipse SP6510... http://www.eclipse-web.com/us/point/sp6910_6510.html you will be impressed.

As asked, make and model of amp? 94

Model #would be helpful so we can match the power rating of it to the speakers.

Sniker hehehe, not so, if you own a Dodge P/U, just did a Dodge with a set of SP6910, [doors] driven by an Alpine HU and Alpine PDX-2.150, customer is going to skip the sub and amp for now, more bass then he needs just with the 6x9s.

I will be replacing the Eclipse 6.5" 2ways I have had for 7+ years with two sets of the SP6510s, I will add a JL Audio 300/4 if my old Alpine HU can't drive them properly. 94

Haha.
I just don't like that bassy sound you get with the 6X9s you know what I mean? I like ultra-high highs and nice mids and my bass to be output by a sub. I'm still trying to find speakers that can do better than what my stock paper ones can...

an alpine amp would be a nice upgrade. get alpine type s speakers if money allows. if not type r is also pretty good and less expensive. what HU do you have? to be honest your HU is more important than amp or speakers.
