looking for some opinions on a gsx
Hey, I have a 98 accord right now but I'm selling it this coming spring and I was looking at a gsx. Can anyone give me some ups for downs on the car. Thanks, brandon
Ups: decently fast stock, can make a lot quicker
Downs: pretty much everything mechanical on the car
I probably exaggerate a little bit but my 97 GSX was a P.O.S. Transmission (auto) was falling apart at 70k, turbo blew up at 68k, turbo manifold cracked at 68k, had all balljoints replaced under a recall, brakes never worked right no matter how many times I bled the system or flushed it. When it was running, it ran like a champ and was pretty quick for being all stock. I had problems with the charging system no matter how many alternators and batteries were replaced. I had to cross my fingers every time I went out to get in it that it would start and wouldn't leave me stranded.
Do a lot of research on DSMs, because if you don't know anything about them or don't know how to work on cars, you're going to be in a world of ****. And I think there are a lot of people on here that will somewhat agree with me.
Good luck!
