Default JDM GSR with USDM Computer?

So I have a JDM GSR swap with a stock USDM GSR computer in my 94 teg. I was offered a JDM computer for $50. Is it worth the buy? Will I see an gains? Plug in play? Holla!

Yes, you should because IIRC the JDM GSR has higher compression pistons than the USDM version and had like 10 hp more or something.

I thought the JDM B18C SiR engine did not have a VTEC pressure switch like the USDM engine. The USDM ECU will throw a CEL because of it IIRC. Is your current ECU stock?

Stock USDM ecu. No check engine light. Hmmm so there is a gain with the JDM ECU. What is the part # to look out for?

My friend supposedly runs a jdm ecu in his 'jdm gsr' swapped integra and his secondary runners never pop open like they do in my usdm gsr. I wonder why? I thinking maybe he has the usdm ecu in there and doesn't know it.

I would spend $100 & get a chipped ecu. Why would u want a cel ? I have an obd1 gsr lsd ecu, I would only run it if I just swapped a complete changeover from Japan & was all stock maybe I/H/E. I also have 2 week oldd P73 chip for any usdm obd1 ecu's u have to have it chipped already in order for it to work. I got my car professionally tuned @ Churches automotive testing

jdm and usdm ecu's are nearly identical. also, every jdm ecu i have seen is obd2a this could be a problem in a 1994

because the jdm gsr are diffrent style intake manifolds and dont have sec runners.

I currently have the jdm sir-g (gsr) motor in my 01 GSR, I am running the USDM ecu. I throw no CEL. I was told by Katman at JHP this "The JDM GSR engine has higher compression pistons vs. the US GSR engine and I believe the camshaft cam profile is a bit better too – this is all mechanical made power and not so much relying on the ecu to make that extra 10hp. You’re more than likely running at the engines full potential (in its stock form) as is with the US ecu." So you will be fine with the USDM ecu.

The SiR and GSR both have the dual runner intake manifold. The SiR has slightly higher compression. The VTEC solenoid typically does not have the pressure switch on the SiR. JDM P72 ECUs are available in OBD1.

any idea what the ecu numbers are for the obd1 p72 from jdm land? could be a helpful reference from those who have a 94-95 car.

I know for sure 37820-P72-001 was OBD1. The information is on here.
