i have a y80 transmission it has been grinding 4th gear and just recently started 3rd, was wondering if i can use the 3rd and 4th syncros from a gsr trans that i know are good, not sure the serial number but deff gsr or ls, are they all the same or are they specific from each tranny?? any info would help because engine is out and i dont wanna put it in until the syncros are fixxd..thanks

LS synchros won't work.

You need to replace the 3/4 sleeve set.

 

agreed. get the sleeve set. only about 150 or so and it comes with the hub, sleeve and synchros.

 

More like 200 if you get it from an online dealer. Much more if you get it local.

 

ite thanks, what is a reliable online dearlership that you know of. Also found out my transmission is a Y80 do u know if its gsr or not?

 

GSR 3-4 shift pieces don't fit the LS.

Y80 is GSR or ITR/CTR. So regardless, you won't be looking into any LS stuff.
