wireing for oil temp gauge
dose any one have auto meter guage installed on therecar. im useing sandwage for sender i wanted know how you did the wiring for sender? that bolt up into the sandwage i dont think runing 12gauge wire into back of motor it not going melt. how did any you wire up sensor part? thank for help and advise. i did search lot links dead...
Do you have a pic of your sender? For mine, it has 2 posts. One is grounded to the chassis and the other goes to the signal wire on the gauge. It is fine to run the wire behind the engine, just make sure it doesn't have any way of rubbing against anything moving or really hot.
There are also the senders that use just one wire. You would put an insulated female spade connector at the end of the wire and connect it to the sender that way and run the other end of the wire to your gauge.

Could you take a clearer picture of the end that doesn't screw in? I can't really see anything.
From what you're saying, I'd place a ring terminal at the end of your wire that's big enough that can go over the sender and then tighten the nut down on it and then run the other end of the wire to your gauge.
