4 gauge engine ground wire?
Hi im wondering that will it make any difference if i put a 4 gauge ground wire from the valve cover to engine ground make any difference than a smaller gauge wire?
What will happen if u put a bigger ground wire? can leaking spark plug wire affect anything?
For other things is it better or worse? alot of people i saw did this larger straps of ground wire?

Re: 4 gauge engine ground wire?
Nothing. Bigger gauge allows for more current at given voltage over a longer distance. If the 8-6 guage is enough to adeqautely hold the current, it will be no problem. the fact is that, wire loses current the farther it travels, basically the farther it goes the more resistance it encounters. However, wire from one side of the engine bay to the other is not enough to get huge gauge wire. the only real reason to get wire bigger than 14 gauge for a grounding kit is for the total amount of current loaded on the wire. Just get 8-4 gauge wire which ever is the cheapest. AND make sure it is copper. You can google wire gauge specs(AWG). It will give you what you need.

Just one more thing, the bigger the gauge the easyier it flows, meaning the better the ground will be. But after a certain point no gain can be realized.
