how to remove the turn signal switch

i have a 1997 lude. the turn signal switch die on me last week. i want to change it. do i have to remove the steerling wheel? how you understand my English.

yes,you will have to remove the steering wheel. be sure to disconnect the battery and also short the airbag connector.
