tranny squeal! what is it???
i have gsr trans and when i put it in first and begin to take off, the tranny makes this loud squeal noise. it only happens sometimes at the right friction point. it happens on hills too. The noise is very audible. I just recently replaced my clutch. I already have a bad input shaft bearing but i never got around to replace it. The noise from the input shaft bearing was really loud at first with the clutch engaged. but as i drove more and more the noise is hard to hear with the clutch engaged. when is disengaged there is no sound. can you guys help me out?
is it better to buy a new tranny or keep this one but replace the bearing since the bearing exploded. I dont hear the input shaft bearing noise like i used to hear it any more. its just quiet now when i have the clutch engaged. but when im decelerating i still hear a noise.
Split the case, pull the ISB/seal out. Inspect the clutch housing under the ISB. If it has been chewed up, get a new trans. Measure the mainshaft and it its under the service limit, get a new trans.
