Default Throttle to Tranny Cable Adjustment

I've posted questions regarding the excessive revving when accelerating out of a corner on my 97 accord since the transmission was replaced after my wife tried to scale a concrete island. A few mechanics tried to say that the "new" tranny was slipping. In case anyone has experienced this, check the cable from the throttle body at the tranny. Mine had lots of play at the tranny end. I got a stubby 12mm open box wrench, loosened the bottom nut at the connection about 3 full turns, took up the slack with the top lock nut and the revving went away. You may have to play with the adjustment some, as taking up too much slack will cause it to downshift upon acceleration out of a turn to a lower gear sooner than it should. It's really pretty simple. It does help to take the battery out, but not necessary with the stubby wrench. Hope this helps if anyone happens to experience this.
