I own a 1998 Civic EX Coupe (EJ8) and I may have a possible gas light problem, but just an overall question. Why does my light not come on? Have I not gotten that low yet? I checked and saw that the bulb was not burned out. It doesn't come on when the other lights come on in aux mode, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to. Today, I felt I was low, and put it 10.75 gallons in the 11.90 gallon tank, still slightly over 1 gallon left, but maybe 1 gallon is the trigger? Not sure, I usually don't get as low as I did today, but it's always on E when I fill up. Am I just not letting it get that far? Maybe it just doesn't come on till .5 gallons or maybe until I'm out? Help please!

PS: Searched, and couldn't find an accurate answer.

 

For me, it comes on when I have around 1 gallon left. I know this for a fact b/c when it comes on, I usually have about 30 more miles until I am completely out of gas.

The Low Fuel light is not supposed to turn on with the key in ON(II).
