Default rsx type s build. please help!!

i just have a few questions. i have a 2006 rsx type s. what are the best mods to go all motor but eventually turbo it if i decide to? like what type of pistons and rods and what compression? my friend has a brand new set of skunk 2 stage 1 cams. this good or should i go bigger? if you guys could help me out on the build with your opinions, that would be great. thanks

I'm thinking you shouldn't do anything until you decide what you are going to do lol. To make big power while going NA, you will need high compression and aggressive cams among other things. Forced induction is almost the complete opposite. Typically with a boosted motor you will need lower compression pistons. As for cams, I would recommend going with a turbo specific cam. Usually turbo cams are not good for NA because they aren't as aggressive in their lift and duration specs. I think before you get anything built you will need to do a lot more research. Many people do well with boosting their stock Type-S motors, a buddy of mine with a 2005 Type-S made 309whp on 9psi with a Revhard kit. Again, research, research, and more research...

^exactly; the parts for na and boost are all different. cams, pistons, exhaust, etc would all be different between the 2. also, if you boost you obviously won't need a header or intake like you would for a na setup.

True, I'll see what I can do.

OP, what is your "big horsepower" goal? 300whp, 400whp? You need to be more specific in what you want. Especially because you are going into this with no knowledge at all. I think before you even think about doing any mods to your car you need to do a lot of your own research. That way you can gather specific questions and then ask them.

my goals are to have almost 400whp. i was thinking about doing cp or wiseco forged pistons. i was thinking 9:1 comp for going turbo'd. or should i go lower comp?

and what bore size is recommendded or should the block be sleeved?

with either eagle or BC rods.

my boy has a brand new set of skunk2 stage 1 cams that he's selling for cheap. this good? or Skunk2 Stage 3 Tuner Series Camshafts??

Supertech Valve Springs Ti Retainers?? does anything need to be oversized? do i need upgraded valves. if so, what kind is good??

As for the exhaust. 70 or 80mm piping.. Greddy Turbo Ti-C Exhaust System

Im not to familiar with turbo kit since i have never had a turbo'd car. what turbo kit would be ideal for this setup

anything else like maybe port and polishing??

Micro polishing the crank?

Whats the best combination that worked for you guys??

You need to stop focusing on brands and look at product specs. Figure out what parts you'll need to make your power goals, and then go brand shopping.

Do more research, you'll thank yourself for it.
