Default help removing rear windshield tint

Ok.. I think I have a problem.. It is very hard to get off the tint.. small chunks of it.. and the tint is purple (probably really old)
Here's a picture
Outside

Inside

small chunks

I don't think I'm willing to take it to a specialist to take it off..

Grab a flat razor blade and start scraping. If it was in tact you could peel but that is ****ed. Once its removed, spray with windex and don't wipe. Then hit it with the razor again and the excess messy adhesive will come right up. The reason you spray is so when the adhesive comes up, It won't stick back to the window.

Be careful with the razor blade and the defroster lines. DO NO SCRAPE THE DEFROST LINES. I had the same issue you did and I ended up cutting a few defrost lines. Long story short, I found it better to get the glass replaced (< $200 from Safelite) than to try and fix the broken lines.

Try soaking it with glass cleaner that contains ammonia. Some people spray the glass down, then cover it up with a plastic bag for a long period of time. They usually park in the sun and let it sit. The ammonia will break down the glue. Also, you can try using a clothes steamer to activate the glue so you can remove the tint.

To get to the areas close to the bottom, I removed the back deck to make it easier. To do this, you need to remove all the interior in the back of the car (seats, side panels, etc). It's the same procedure as replacing the back speakers.

Pay a tint shop. Seriously. I did this on my lude. I would have gladly paid $100 to have somebody else get that **** off of there.

I think I already scraped the defroster lines :S...
I'll have to talk to my parents about getting the rear window replaced or just don't need to use the defroster

Defroster lines can be fixed with a metallic paint pen.

well.. when I'm removing the tint.. Most likely the whole defroster will be gone.. since the "tint" sticks the defroster lines out..

I still say pay somebody.
I paid $40 to have the tint pulled off all the windows in a civic I once had. This was after I learned my lesson with the Prelude.

i did this before on all my windows. It shouldn't be too bad use adhesive remover to get the adhesive off, 3m makes some good stuff. Make sure that glass is warm 70 and up is best if not use a light or something to warm up the spot your workin on. Use the razor blade like some people mentioned. Also it is a lot easier if you remove the fabric on the rear sill or whatever it's called especially when your working on the bottom portion. Once your done clean the window with paint thinner or something then windex. The adhesive remover breaks down the adhesive and windex will just smear it around.

the bottom part i might ignore since it is a bit hard to get to..
The weather is never 70 or higher now in this time of the year...
I don't have any equipments in my garage to heat it up.. besides a hair dryer which I used to take off the rear window tint.

would heat do the trick though?
Look at how many small chunks of tint i have on it..
I think I do have a steamer.. just that I don't know where it is (that's why I was using a hair blower/dryer for the rear windows)
