Default 100 octane for emissions?

i am about to take the IL emissions test, i have run about a half a tank through my B16 with "guaranteed to pass" emissions cheater. they say to run the tank down almost empty, refill with premium like always, and take the test. a gas station near me sells 100 race gas. would it help to run higher octane gas? i am also going to disconnect my vtec solenoid with hopes of cleaner emissions in high rpms. i do have a stock exhaust on my car, stock cat, stock intake, you name it. drives like i am trying to go snorkeling with a straw. thanks

Tell you the truth, i did the same thing, put the guaranteed to pass and followed instructions to the note, refilled w/ supreme gas (91 octane), ran it hard before the test and still failed. When I finally passed 2 weeks later, I was running 87 octane, new plugs and new Catalytic. But this is California, I dont know what kind of restrictions or guidelines you should follow in your state.

you want to run a low octane gas for a complete burn.. and some iso heat or that guarnty to pass stuff.... new plugs, cap and rotor dont hurt either

put a liter of "methyl hydrate" in your tank when full. worked for me.

I failed emissions BAD in Canada 1990 Civic CX STOCK. I put a bottle of "Guaranteed To Pass" ( http://www.autobarn.net/ch05063.html ) with a full tank of 91 Octane, and ran it untill it was empty. The night before the test, I filled up, and added another bottle of "Guaranteed To Pass" , took the car for a good run on the way, and PASSED. I also removed my Air Filter before the test. Try that.

Good Luck

try this simple free solution, put piece of cardbord infront of rad before you get there , get your temp way up and you are guaranteed to pass. if your car is running hot it will burn everything out...............tried and true.

Yes, but too hot and you fail because of high NOX readings.
