doing a swop and hit a wall
ok im doing a swap in my 90 cb7. the motor is a h23 from a 96 honda prelude im looking @ the harness and it has 4 more plugs then min. can some one please help me or has some one done this swap and know whats going on
I tried to translate this into something that the rest of us could read and failed......but what I could make of it you need to convert your new motor to be OBD-1 compliant.
you use the search and then tell if u find it. cause i didnt and its obd1 to obd2
but any way i figured it out a i jus have to use my harness and my ecu for the time being

You'll need to explain what "extra plugs" you have. You'll want to convert the OBDII motor to OBDI to run with a chipped P28 or whatever ECU

this guy is way too rude to ever get any help. just because its a forum doesnt mean we can understand your gibberish. please be a little more respectful and might get a few more answers. if your doing a swap and dont know waht a jumper harness is. I would stop while ur ahead.

He has an OBDII motor and is putting it into an OBDI car. The OBDII > OBDI harness is for the ECU on OBDII vehicles to use an OBDI ECU. Not the other way around and not for the engine harness.
well yeah see i already have a obd1 dizzy from my h22 so thats not a issue and the injectors are getting cut & spliced. im thinking of running my h22 p13 obd1 ecu to it. the few extra plugs were knock sensor CPS and cruise control. so ill be runing just not on the proper ecu. im looking into a p14 obd1 ecu as we speake

im not rude i just dont like when people say use the search how about ask me if i did first then if i say no tell me to go search. im on for other sites searching aswell as this one. this dude has 2,779 post half of which hes probly telling some one to go search. and i know what a jumper harness is and i dont have time to wait for one to come in the mail im going old school and using my harness this ay no check engine light and ill be running better the i would with the extra sensors . this is not my first swap by the way all the others were streight obd1 to obd1 so this through me off for all of 2 hours till i realized jus use my harness the only thing i dont like about this method is that im running a dohc on a sohc ecu.
No offense but both the FAQ and search function are there for a reason. The swap you are doing has been covered 1,000,000,000 times before. It's an OBD2 engine into an OBD1 vehicle swap, Hell it's an H23 Non VTEC into a non vtec chassis too boot.
If there are any sensors that are not the same between the two, use the ones from your OBD1 engine. Along with an OBD1 distributor and a P14 ECU.
Seems as though whenever info has been given in this thread. You come back and say that you already have that covered. To me it seems as though you have everything under control. If you can't figure out what the 4 connectors are after looking at the manuals or wiring diagrams for an H23A1 & F22A. I'm not sure anyone can help you.
You do have the shop manuals for the two engines & chassis that are involved here, right? You say that you've been in the game for a while....... That is the first thing anyone should have before doing a swap like this. You should research what it is you are doing before actually doing it.
Sorry to be an *** but I'm F#@k'n tired of people buying engines and trying to do swaps before they do any background research. Then when they hit a very simple glitch, such as this one you are having, they demand to know what's wrong. And if they don't get an answer right away they blame H-T. The answer my friend, is that you need to do more research next time.
Cheers
& good luck finishing your swap.
