I can get a decent gsr motor for about 1,200. . . cost of a vtec head - 500 , golden eagle conv. kit - 250, plus rods and all that I think I would be better off going gsr? just a thought

For the cost of a gsr you can have yourself a vtec head, some pistons, rods, studs, barings/rings and maybe even some left over for a set of cams. Do the logical thing and build your B20. 84mm has torque, and torque = fun.
my point is this. just build your b20, then save up for some nice lsd. you'll enjoy it and you'll know that something wont go wrong right after the swap (unless you mess it all up)

Build the B20. It would be on the cheap-o! If i were in your shoes, that is....i'd build it up and boost it. But hey you could go all motor too. Having that little extra displacement helps! =]
b20vtec. love it from personal experience. ive built 4 b20vtec.
b20vtec crx went 12.8 stock
b20vtec wagon went 14.0 stock
b20vtec sedan went 13.6 stock
b20vtec hatch never ran it.
