Default Immobilizer Chip and ECU question

Ok so i have a 2002 accord Lx w/ the F23a4 ULEV long story short i have 2 giant holes in the block and ill never use a CAI again. now to the point Im getting a a used JDM F23a and i am told that i will not be able to use the ECu because of the immobilizer. What im trying to find out is if there is a way to bypass to immobizer so i can use the JDM ECU without haveing to get a remote starter? my other question is if i cant use the JDM ECU will the ULEV ECU work with a non ULEV engine? The person im getting the new motor from says it will work but other people say it wont. if i could just get a definete on that thats my biggest concern with the swap.

I'm unsure on the JDM F23a but I'm sure a chipped P28 with a F23 map on it would work. What state are you in? Doing a chipped ECU requires you down-convert to OBDI so you lose the OBDII scanning abilities from the port. If you need that for registration/inspection you'd be hosed.

Is the new motor OBDII ? I'm unsure when/if the changeover from OBDI occurred in Japan.

If it's OBDII you could probably have your current ECU working with it. If it's OBDI you have the issues.

Yeah that would be my guess as well, though sometimes Japan gets stuff earlier/later. Until he gets the motor I guess he'll have to sit tight.
