Default Rebuilt trans making noise

I just had my b16 transmission rebuilt..type R lsd mfactory 4.9 diff ls fith carbon coated synchros and brand new bearings and seals..the problem im having is when the trany is coasting in gear i hear a bad whining noise it gets a little quieter when i put it in neutrol.. If anybody could help me out i would really apriciate it... Thanks

Probably bearing noise. Either one not installed the 'correct' side up, or a bad needle bearing that perhaps was damaged prior or got damaged in the process.

Could also be the FD (would be a real quiet whine). Semi-helical gears will whine whereas stock helical gears will not.

Yea i was leaning towards that but I spoke with an mfactory rep and he said that they really dont make noise that they are really quiet on hondas trannys

Usually the tranny fluid drowns out most of the sound, but you will still hear a small whine compared to the oem (which doesn't really whine at all).

I can hear the whine with my MFactory close gear set, even over the SMSP race exhaust (only on light throttle). In cars with full exhaust and close gear set it was easy to hear the whine.

Ill probably take it apart to be sure that theres nothing wrong i have built a couple of b-series transmission and never had a problem...this is my first time using a non oem fd..thats why im in dout
