Looking to build 350-400whp honda! Suggestions please
Backstory : Used to have a d series turbo, loved the way it felt, it was much better than driving all motor. Complications arose as it was my daily driver and i had to remove the kit. I have been missing it since but have not had much money to do anything serious. Well i now have a real job finally and want to build a new car, i want it to be a quality build no home made turbo junk, something that could be scene in a magazine style build. And i want it to be fast like 350-400wheel so i can walk my **** talking buddy with the 350hp vw.
Options: Which car do i go with, i would prefer something 95 and before because its a pain to convert cars back and forth obd1 to obd2 for inspection and what not so here is what im thinking
92-95 civic hatch/coupe
94-95 integra
95 prelude
what motor combo should i use and should i build the motor? i know b series can take a good amount of power stock. im open to ideas

What I say is get about 7500 bucks and while your saving it read, listen, learn more about the different ways to achieve your power goals. Look at other setups for ideas of what is good for you, then spend it and spank some VW ***. FOr those of you thinking 7500? WTF here it goes in my world. THere are always variations to any recipe.
- 2000 decent EG coupe/hatch
- 2000 LS swap, freshened
- 2000 Quality put together Turbo "kit"
- 500 Tune
- 1000 Stuff not mentioned above i.e. Tag, tires, alignment, suspension ...
Thats good for 275-400 with proper tuning which = 12.9- 11.5 depending on X factors...driver, tires, traction, the day...
ANyway, read, look around, search. There is an abundance of info here to help you along the way. Good luck.

I know a good amount about hondas. I've been into them since I was 14 and I'm 23 right now. I was just looking for what motor turbo combo works good. And I want it to be a bolt on kit. The last one I did custom and it was a pain in the ***. Since the ls only has 140 hp do you really think I can make the other 200 needed with a gt30r. Or should I go to a gt35r. And also can the ls handle that much power reliably?

Make a plan to what your buget is...then ask yourself if you are willing to spend that much money!?
ONLY THEN start the build. Reliable is expensive, cheap is QUICK WAY TO GET IT DONE HALFASS but its expensive and dissapointing in the long run..its your choice.
Go with a good quality turbo kit that you can upgrade later if the bug bites kits and when you know what your power goal will be STICK with it! If not you might as well build the motor NOW for the 650-700hp you will want some day. Baby steps. Hope this helps

Expect to spend anywhere from 12K-15K for a Signature Signed Allen Built K24 ALL MOTOR setup. 350whp should be within reach.

i think im going to go ls teg (dc2), that way i dont have to deal with all the swapping bull, mounts, linkages, ecu changes, wiring etc. then if the motor has a mileage i see unfit i will just buy a new longblock and drop it in. But the question remains can the ls motor handle 200 hp of boost without being built or am i gonna throw a piston
Here's my home made turbo junk. I know what you meant to say, but you can "home make" any caliber of turbo kit. Unless there's a certain pride in overpaying for a pre-made kit.
You can reach your power goals with just about any series of engine, with D series probably needing more aftermarket parts to achieve it. Any B series with aftermarket rods and pistons will do what you want. Mine is rods/pistons ls/vtec, 402hp, and the only brand new part in this picture is the manifold. It's all in the way you put it together.
I'm not trying to insult anyone. My last turbo build was a "home made" pieced together. And it seemed like I dealt with problem after problem. Much had to do with the flanges on the turbo but it still made my head hurt for a while. Btw stealthmode I have used oilines from you guys and they are great but what turbo are you running if you don't mind Me asking
i think if you want a combo go with the eg hatch put a jdmh22a in there get some internal work done that even gets u atleast to about 300hp put a gt30 the only thing money for the motor lol 4gssss hahahahaha but trust me its worth it i love mineeee

if you're looking for the 300-400whp range the h1c holset, hx35w, hy35, or the new he351cw would all be great turbos for what you're wanting and you will get good streetabilit out of them since I assume you're wanting to go with a dual cam motor since you were wanting what you would see in magazines and the good ol' mighty d series just isn't that anymore. The best thing about those turbo's is that you can get them ranging from $150-$400 new. Not to mention the dang factor when you open the hood of the car and that monsterous turbo is just chillin out

I don't know how many times I have said this. I am not a noob to Honda. When I refer to mags I am talking from a quality standpoint. They all use good parts and they all come toggrthr very clean. I will look into those turbos sir thank you for the advise. How is the downpipe flange for them thou? And as I said before I built a d series turbo with a "homemade turbo kit" it turned into a huge headache. I am going ls integra. The h series is to heavy of a motor I do not want to screw with the handeling of the car. I want to build an all around performer that should not be screwed with in a straight line
the hy35 and hx35 use a non garett 5 bolt and the he351cw and h1c u
se v band also most mag cars aren't cookie cutter kit cars. GL with your build

ok here is my last build
garrett gt28rs
stealthmode oil lines
p28ecu tuned on crome
apexi afc2
cx racing 2.5in mandrel bent charge piping
custom built 2.5 in downpipe, with flexpipe, extra 02 bung, vband (welded by me)
t bolt clamps
hks ssqv bov
tial 38mm wastegate
ebay turbo manifold (i know i know)
2.5 in apexi n1 exhaust system
ebay test pipe
dsm 450's
inline resistors
Wideband a/f
volt gauge
boost gauge
fmic (brand unsure)
obd2-obd1 conversion
everything was pieced together and installed by myself with the help of some friends. i know how to build a turbo kit, i was wondering if i would be better off getting a cookie cutter by say rev hard, drag, apexi etc. but i guess i will end up just piecing one together again

and on another note, i don't want my car featured in a mag (would be nice but yeah right), i just want a quality build with quality parts, that comes together nicely. my last one did not impress in the look factor that much...
either get a b18c atleast the blockwith any b series head,or get a whole b18c and put the ls crank rods and some of shelf pistons with a t3/t4-gt3076 turbo, borgs whatever u can, u even can use a stock b18c i paid $1500 for a engine tranny and and all accessories attached turbo that with a good tune hello power!!!.lol
I mean for a show car magazine car i like 95 and later hondas preferably hacthes with B18c motors boosting like a peakboost system its nice n clean tubular everything

He just said 350 hp. That engine will make 350 hp.
If I has a choice of turbo or NA at that power level, I would choose NA. So would most other people.
