Default Will you using these "new" Wheel Bearings

I purchased these TIMKEN bearings from a place that received high recommendations from Honda Tech members.

They shipped me wheel bearings that have bluish brown heat-stressed burn marks in areas where the bearings will be fitted into the front steering knuckle

The photos showed how the old wheel bearing look, still shiny and clean. Focus on the left side of the bearing. The one closer to the box is the new one.

Will you use them and go through the hassle of returning them

thanks

this discoloration is normal. the bearings are induction hardened and the discoloration is the result of that process. there is nothing wrong with them as long as you can't see any visual cracks.

i work in a hub bearing manufacturing plant so you can trust me on this one.

i'm thinking the reason it looks different from the old one is just because they are different brands or OE vs. aftermarket..

Agreed. Ive replaced many wheel bearings with this same heat discoloration, not just Hondas. I finally just accepted it as normal..Dont forget to torque the axle nut to spec with a torque wrench. Just using an impact can cause premature failure. I learned this from experience, LOL.

Thank you to all for the advice. Special mention to "Bailhatch" for addressing my grammer. I agree that it is important to continue to promote proper English writing. I've seen so many threads with many grammer and spelling mistakes. Sometimes it is annoying.
