Default Speedo Problems

Well I just picked up a 1995 accord v6 auto, and the speedometer doesn't work. Every other gauge works. It has an abs light that comes on every once in a while too. The cruise doesn't work either, but before I just replace it I wanted to get some other input from you guys. Thanks

VERY common problem with this year model. I had to replace mine. Not much else you can do.

If the both speedometer and cruise do not work, it is possible a bad vehicle speed sensor. Eventually, you may have a TCM code 4 complaining VSS.

Yeah I haven't had a check engine light though. How long does it usually take to throw one? Also now sometimes my tach doesn't work. And it gets slow. Thats only every once in a while and it usually goes away when you warm it up.

VSS may not thorw a code until it really gets wacky.......so remove it and clean it and reassemble it and reinstall it. There is a VSS cleaning guide on the internet

Can you find the write up on that? Also every once in a while the speedo works. Maybe once or twice a week.

What? You don't know how to do a google search? I'm quite sure that YeuEmMaiMai would have been more than glad to supply it if he had it available (He's really quite helpful, you know) But obviously.....
I didn't know he offered a research service

Personally, I haven't seen what he was refering to. I'd suggest just go out and pick up a new one. The VSS is one of the cheaper sensors used by Honda.
