s300 and obd0 injectors
Alright u guys I have a problem with the way my jdm b16a obd1 runs in my 88 dx hatch. When I use the s300 I bought from some guy, car isn't very responsive. It idles higher than normal, idles at like 2500 when warming up and isn't very responsive at low rpms once it has warmed up. When it is cold the car runs fine and strong but of course no vtec, once warm it is hesistant when I give it throttle and feels week until I get ab out 6K rpm. When I used the p28 with a skunk2 chip that my brother runs in his eg it runs perfect. So then I tried using s300 on the eg and it ran fine even once warm. The only difference betweem his b16 and my b16 is that his is first gen obd0 b16 with obd1 injectors and obd2 dizzy and b16 trans while my b16 is an obd1 b16 with obd1 dizzy and obd0 injectors. Doesn't make sense. I noe its definately ecu related cuz his ecu runs fine in my car. Does s300 only work right with obd1 injectors?
no. it'll work with both. your obd0 injectors should have a resistor box of some sort wired in. the reason you're running so bad with the s300 is probably because you need to get it tuned. the "some guy" you bought it from, what setup did he have? basically, it boils down to "get it tuned"
it is tuned, i took it down to a lock dyno shop called ldl speedshop and Dennis, who is well known here in vegas, tuned it for a stock p30 b16
he uploaded a stock p30 basemap and disabled knock and o2 and ran open loop and that was it. now someone told me it could be a failing ECT sensor because it only does it sometimes and only when my car is warm. could that be it? he said The ecu uses this sensor to adjust fuel enrichment for cold/hot conditions...that kind of makes sense because my car takes a while for it to start when its cold, and check this out, if i crank engine over when cold, it will take about 10 seconds for it to start, and it starts real rough, but if engine is cold and i crank for like 4 or 5 seconds, stop for like1 or 2 seconds and try again it will start as soon as i crank motor again, but still very rough.
So what should my temperature should my ect read when my motor is at normal operating temperature? because i can datalog when car is running to see what temp the ect is reading.
