so i got a odyssey battery from someone and it isnt holding a charge. i dont have a battery charger so i just put it in my car drove for a while, shut the car off and it just does nothing. can you take these things to a place like interstate battery or something and bring them back to life? or is it like a coventional and it is just toast?

Autozone can tender charge it for you. Depending on the condition of the battery, it might still have some life left.

Once its that far gone you can rescue it with a trickle/tender chager that brings is up super slowly, but its going to fail again soon and leave you stranded... its a goner.

Recycle it at Advance Auto, and look for a Magnapower ETX-14.

Those batteries are like powermasters and optima's(optimas suck) they require a slow charge( deep cycle batteries) at first and then once charged you can put in your car. I have a powermaster and a battery tender from pepboys....works great!

what about the powermaster, just looked at their site and it seems that they only do atv, motorcycle, and small marine batteries. would i just get a marine since it is deep cycle?

All the "etx-14" batteries you see sold under different names are the same battery Braille puts their sticker on, even when its listed as ATV batt. If you live in sub-freezing areas, you might need to get the next size up.
