NEED HELP FROM YOU SI GUYS
hey guys i have put in a obd1 Gsr motor into my 99 ek ... im using a 99 si harness / a obd2 dizzy .. obd2 alternator ... obd1 injectors ... also using a obd2b to obd1 conversion harness at the ecu.....
the question is: on the si harness there seems to be to IAT plugs one that comes by the runners and one that plugs into the intake arm thats loomed up by the MAP / now im throwing the code 10 for IAT but i have one of the plugs not being used cause there is no spots for it... what are you guys doing or do i need to make hole in the arm and put sensor .. how is that done?
if anyone has experience in doing a swap like this or if you have a stock SI 99 will you post a pic of how the IAT are set up ... please help out guys my car has been out of commission for while now .... ill post link to my hybrid section

ok dude 1st thing obd2 car obd1 motor umm not legal nor is it ever goin to pass emissions u broke a rule putting that motor in that car. have u nvr heard of this b4? and 2nd a newer car will have extra plugs when u put an older motor in/ bc the older motor doesnt have the nessesary stuff for the harness, the newer car = more wires . not going to work ! u shall have cel light forever.
hahah you are a funny guy thanks for the advice though
and just for the INFO obd1 motor and obd2 have no difference other than wiring plugs and ecu .. and i have all obd2 stuff going to work on getting the crank censor and type r timing belt cover to pass bar... but that is not what was asked// i didnt ask how to make obd1 motors work in obd2 cars

96-00 Civic puts the IAT in the intake arm ONLY. It's a square plug. That is the one you need to use. You can either plug the correct IAT in or you can get another "Q" plug and use the IAT on your GSR intake. Cut off the original plug and solder/heat shrink the Q plug on and plug it in. The other plug you speak of is probably the one that goes on the solenoid by the fuel rail that goes to the EVAP/Charcoal cannister.
I've got an obd1 jdm gsr in my 2000 em1 and I know what sensor your talking about in the intake arm. For some reason though I do not have any wires running to that sensor. It's basically just plugged in there so I don't have a huge hole on my intake. I don't even see any wires running up in that area that might plug into it. I'm pretty sure I'm using the obd2 em1 engine harness because I know a conversion harness was used at the ecu. I didn't have any cel's with the original b18c ecu and I don't have any cel's with my chipped p28.
can you guys post pic of the inake you are using with the sensor pluged in so i can get a better idea how i can put hole in the intake arm and place a sensor ill post a pic to so ppl can see better

um well its a sensor. I dont know where they are on GSR's but I know on 96-00 civics they are in the intake pipe. there is a hole in the stock intake pipe with a grey ring to hold it in there. On short rams there is usually a little rubber piece that is in the tube. I just drilled and bored out a hole in my charge piping to hold the IAT.
IF you closely read what I typed, I said the 96-00 Civic has the IAT in the intake ARM and the GSR has it in the INTAKE. Intake arm is the hose that goes from the TB to the airbox or air filter. Intake is the thing that goes between your throttle body and head. The GSR puts the IAT in the intake. If you remove it, you have a vacuum leak as it leaves a hole in the intake.
So, like I said. You have 2 options.
1. Get the plug that plugs into the IAT sensor located in your GSR intake manifold. Plug the pigtail into your IAT and wire that to the factory harness.
2. Get a 96-00 Civic IAT sensor and a grommet that the sensor will go into. Make a hole in your intake arm by the vent tube. If you do not have the vent tube from the valve cover to the intake arm installed because you have a breather filter on your VC, you can put the IAT in that hole. Otherwise, put the hole on the air filter side of the vent tube.
Here are a few pics to show you where I put a few IAT's on 96-00 Civics:
Here's my coupe. I soldered the Q style plug on and used the intake manifold located IAT:

Here's my old 4 door. The IAT is located in the intake arm:

Here you can see a GSR intake manifold. The IAT is located at the back of the intake off of runner 4:
