Ugh....do you know the difference between the two? I can see this getting ugly when you order something that isn't right.

Shortblock: block with crank, pistons, rods, oil & water pump

Longblock: shortblock with the head, intake manifold, distributor, VTEC solenoid, etc...

Just know which one you want before making a purchase

i dont think he was trying to lead you one way or the other, just explaining what the two are. if your going to get a vtec head later or after then you will have the b20 head still to sell or do whatever with.

If this was my build, i would pick up an LS longblock and swap it in. Drive with that for a while and when you have the money, assuming you dont now, you can swap a VTEC head on it. May i suggest a GSR head...they're my personal favorite. Anyway, I would ditch the B20 idea...i'm not a big fan of the B20 VTEC, but at the end of the day, its your setup and your money. Good luck

if money isnt a issue for u now then i think a gsr swap would be best cause now you would have vtec and itd still b reliable if u did the b20 vtec it might be cheaper depending on how you put it together but it probably wont be as reliable...
