cylinder head???

Default cylinder head???

So I bought a cylinder head off a Civic and the guy said its vtec and also how do i know if its a d15 head or d16 head. how can i tell the difference??

look at the front of the head for the head code and year. also if it doesn't have a vtec solenoid on the back of the head you guessed it a non-vtec head.

i just looked at the front of the head and it read p2j-7 and then to the far right said 95 and also on the back it seemed like there was a solenoid missing might be vtec

you have a 1995 D16Y8 single cam vtec head from a 1996 honda civic ex.

thanks.. so ok i have a d15b block and a d16y8 head can both be bolted on togther?? and if so would i use a d15 or d16 head gasket or doesnt matter??

Yes and Yes it does matter, different thicknesses in the headgaskets raise or lower your Compression Rating.

next step is for wiring harness wat would i need for that?? keepin in mind i have a 88 civic hatchback thats dpfi.

MPFI First, you can keep it OBD0 which wouldn't require any re-wiring besides MPFI, and a VAFC, Fields VTEC Controller, or a chipped PS9 for 1-wire

Would u think its best if i go out and get a harness with MPFI that way i can also pick up a intake manifold and injectors and i only worry about wiring the VAFC and VTEC??
Also wat ECU would i use??
