CYP Sensor Issues
Hello all,
1996 Accord LX Sedan F22B2 - I've done some searching but have no definite answers. I'd like to be as specific as possible with the help of all the great minds here at Honda-tech.
I've been having an intermittent P1381 code for some time now, and just recently it has gone into full blown P1382 (CYP sensor no signal).
I have bought and replaced the distributor with a remanufactured unit, but I still have the CEL. Sometimes the car runs okay, with a few misses, and sometimes it runs like ****.
I have reset the CEL while driving, idling, and any other circumstances, and it will reappear almost instantly after erasing the code.
I began checking the resistance between terminals, and I have measured a resistance of ~400 Ohms between the two highlighted pins.

I believe this is out of spec - and I was looking for some confirmation that this will throw a P1382 code.
I would also love to know what other tests I could perform to know for certain what my problem is.
Thank you much,
Eddy

to clarify:
The male plug pictured is one of the two that come out of the distributor housing.
One is a 2-prong and this one is the 4-prong.
Also : If anyone has a known-good distributor or CYP sensor and could measure resistance on their plug, I would greatly appreciate it!

Okay, I just drove an hour out to Napa to check resistance in my old distributor and a brand new distributor. They are all roughly the same, so I'm guessing my problem lies somewhere else down the line.
Any Ideas?
Trying to remain optimistic,

The resistance between the two should be between 350 - 700 ohms
Test the continuity of the wires between the CYP connector and Body ground. If there is continuity fix the open/short in the wire. If there is no continuity then check the resistance between pins C14 & pin C4 on the ECU. Should see the same results, between 350 & 700 Ohms.

I didn't know how to check the ECU, but I just went and met with a guy from Ebay that had (luckily) a 96 Accord A/T ECU in my city.
Swapped over the ECU's and it ran like a dream all the way home!!!
I hope this is the end of my problems!
Thanks for your help, Ghost
