Does Burnout Smoke Affect AFR?
Sometimes turbos suck in tire smoke during a large burnout before a race. It’s easiest to see with a front mount turbo. My question is, how much does sucking smoke into your turbo/engine change your AFR and affect your tune? It seems this lack of oxygen could cause problems!?
That air has been replenished with fresh air a number of times before the car is staged and launches.
Now, I can tell you the rubber does coat the inside of the turbo.

Unless your doing a burnout all the way down the track and magically sucking it all in the inlet while moving 100+mph I dont see an issue...... kind of a no brainer
Since no one ever talks about it, I figured it's not an issue. Ive just seen a couple of videos where someone is doing a 3rd gear burnout and a good amount of smoke is getting sucked in by the turbo. Must not be an issue...
