Hey guys, so i have a h22 swap into my eg civic, the passenger side axle keeps popping out every 2-3 days when i drive the car. I Widened the C clip a little the other day and today it just popped out again. I'm using 90-93 axle integra from Napa auto parts. The Oem one i had before was clicking so i decided to replace it. The OEM axle did not pop out on me once. I work at Napa so i decided to get a brand NEW axle (not a reman), not too sure if the specs on the brand new axles are different from OEM ones or not. I know the remans are the same specs because they just swap out what went wrong in the axle.

Also should there be tranny fluid leaking if the axle is starting to pop out? I noticed yesterday when i looked under my hood down to my axle that my axle was popping out again and the tranny was leaking, should that be happening?

well when replacing an axle a lil bit of fluid will come out so that is normal and if ur center nut and axle is on correctly there is no way poss it could just fall out. no hard feelings but it seems u might b intalling it wrong somehow ive nvr had this issue b4

 

im 100% that im not installing it wrong, ive done plenty of axle replacing before and this is the first time this has happened to me before. I'm sure the axle is on all the way before putting everything back together (axle boot touching the tranny), but when i start driving again and i look under my hood to my axle i see it slipping out again. Again my OEM axle never popped out and now this just started.

 

What trans? LSD?

 

using h23 trans no lsd with the 2nd gen hasport mounts. i still dont know how its able to come out, im 100% sure i put it in all the way and tightened down all the bolts... could i possibly use DC axles instead of the 90-93 axles?

Have you seated the axle with a few hits with a 5lb hammer ? put a piece of 2x4 over the end of the axle and wack it good with the 5lbs hammer.

 

not sure what that'll do if i got the axle in all the way already? im sure the axle is in all the way, pushed it, jiggled it in and it seemed to sit fine before i tightened all the bolts. it just seems like it likes to come off when i start to drive.

you can not use a regular integra axle whether it is a 90-93 or a 94-up the axle will never set in the transmission right you need to have a prelude style imboard housing on it in order for in to properly set in the diff

 

Yep. Prelude inner and Integra axle/outer. Straight Teg will not work correctly. To make sure it's in there for good, take a pry bar and gently try to pry it out. If it just slides right out, you have a problem. It should take a good amount of force to get it to pop back out.

 

like insanemike24 said you can use those axles you need the prelude inner you need a hybird swap axle or hassport buy them off ebay there like 200 with shipping and theres nothing to worry about there brand new
