question for wiring guru's....code 6
i have a 88 crx HF with obd0 b16 swap. and, i've been battling with this number 6 cel (coolant temp sensor)now for months and i just can't figure out what the hell is going on. so here's what i've tried so far.
-replaced water temp sensor...nothing
-tested wires with multimeter following all instructions in honda manual. everything tests good
-then i tried grounding the common ground wire coming out of the sensor straight to the engine. and i thought that worked. i wasn't getting a cel, vtec was working great, but....my tach, fuel gauge, and temp gauge stopped working. so, i replaced the fuse that was blown. GREAT, tach works...all gauges work, BUT...now i'm getting a number 6 CEL!!! WTF!
why the hell would i not get a cel and vtec would be working, and my car basically runs perfect, until i install a fuse for the gauge cluster??
the coolant temp sensor has nothing to do with the gauges. the temp gauge is a completely different wire.
someone help me pleeeeease!!! this **** is driving me crazy!
