Disconnect the grey plug on the vtec solenoid.
Connect a jumper wire and connect one end to the '+' (positive) battery terminal.
Touch the other end of the jumper wire to the solenoid side of the grey 1 pin connector that you disconnected.
There should be an audible click from the solenoid.
If you get the click then remove the solenoid and clean the filter screen.
Check your vtec wiring.

Well I'm not at home right now. But I can tell you as soon as I get there. Would a wire being disconnected from the ecu like that throw a code and make my car idle rough, and sometimes die? Well that's beside the point, I just wanna fix the code first.
