do some searching and decide what you want. Mid range, torque, top end, little everything or what. There is no be all end all cam that just makes you whoop a z06. Personally, I prefer the Bisimoto level 2 camshafts. Call him with your setup and tell him where you want the power the most, and he will custom grind your stock core for about $230 bones.

My next choice after bisi would be the Exospeed sr909 camshaft. Many guys have or do run this cam with good results, and the price is a few dollars less.

dont waste your money on a signle cam.
imo

just save those 2oo-300 $ for a b series swap..

unless your going single cam turbo..

then yeah

but if your going to stay all motor.
its kinda a waste
imo

Hey thanks for the info on those cams I'll do a little more research on what I want until I make my decision

i cant disagree more with the B swap statement. I love B and D series, they both have the positive attributes. Keep the D for a while, take .040" off the head, slap in a quality camshaft, heavier valve springs, mild port work, a good tune and a good header with free flowing exhaust and you can be right with a b16 or ahead of it, for less money if your a smart shopper.

check out "one cam only (dot) com " (obviously no spaces I was just getting past the edit thingy) for some serious d16 motor work ideas. Its a great bunch of guys over there with a tremendous amount of knowledge, and I have yet to find a member i dislike. give it a shot there and you'll see what i mean

dude good way to put it..

also you can throw some dohc zc piston in that lil a6

if you shave the .040 off your head plus the pm7(dohc zc) pistons
im pretty sure you'll be able to keep up with some b series. most likely an Ls

well thats if you have an Si tranny.

You can also run a SOHC ZC camshaft in an a6 for a decently cheap upgrade.

You can also check out web cams. http://www.webcamshafts.com/ They do regrinds for the a6, all their specs are on the website.

As for the B series swap, you can boost the little D series and take out any B series for the money you would have in buying the motor, trans, mounts, etc.

so tired of the B vs D debate...both motors have 1600cc of displacement, B has better "flow characteristics". get the D ported and im sure you can match the flow of a B series 1.6.

back on topic! i've heard about the sohc ZC cam upgrade...i have one with the gear if your interested! i'm not familiar with the differences between the a6 and zc shaft myself but i have an a6 block with a zc head. i'll sell you the cam tho i still have my a6 cam.
