Hey guys, I bought 3 gauges (boost, oil pressure and volts) and am currently trying to get them wired up. The car is an 00' Civic EX.

Each gauge has a red wire for a 12v constant, ground, and headlight switch.

The oil pressure and volt gauges both have 2 additional posts, one for 12v and another ground (So this means that they have two 12v wires and two grounds each).

I connected the first set of grounds together as a seperate harness and the second set of ground together as another harness, put a ring terminal at the end of both and and grounded them to the side of my dash. (There's a 10mm bolt connected to the metal frame on the side of the dash).

Now my question is about the 12v and headlight wires. I did the same thing with the 12v constant wires and made 2 harnesses, one has the three 12v wires leading into 1 wire and the second one has the two additional 12v wires from the oil pressure and volt gauges butt-connected together into one wire.

The headlight switch wires are the 3 wires leading into one wire.

The wires are ran under my dash and are just hanging at my pedals. My question is, what would be the most efficient way to wire up everything? The instructions mentioned using an "add a circuit" to connect everything together, but I'm unsure how safe this would be. I don't like the idea of 5 power wires connected into one add a circuit and three headlight switched wires into another.

I was thinking of running the wires to my radio harness and tapping into the 12v constant wire, would this be safe to do? I don't wanna blow a fuse or anything.

Also, where would I tap into to connect the headlight switch wire? should I run it through the firewall and splice into a wire on the headlight harness?

As you can see they're pretty much the same. Like I said I'm looking for the easiest and most efficient way to wire these up.

I would just daisy chain them and use a fuse for them on the power lead so they have there own circuit.

 

Hey Des, I've been trying to reach you for months now. Could you give me a call or text when you have a chance, just need to ask you something.

Ok so I daisy-chain them together and tap them into a power lead and add an inline fuse in between? What size fuse would I need? In the instructions it says use a 3amp fuse, so would one 3a fuse be good for everything?

I have 3 gauges to install and was wondering if putting together the 3 positive of the lights of the 3 gauge together would affect the "add a circuit" 10 amp fuse witch is the max aloud...

 

The 3 illumination lights will not draw anyting near 10A so it is not a problem. 94
