I'm confused, you say you have an obd2 computer plugged into an obd1 car?

uhhhh ok. after reading this a few times i kinda get what you saying. well you got your car stolen. you kept the shell and found a dc2 donor car. you put the LS in there and was running a OBD2 P72. it died and you swap a P28 in and it ran fine. ok you can run a OBD1 motor in a OBD2 shell. correct me if i am wrong you gotta have the secondary O2 sensor up and evap system. how did it crash? is there a ground somewhere that isnt grounded right? is it PLUGGED IN ALL THE WAY? there are other factors. how you was driving. did you hit a speed bump?

Here's what I get from it, it's a bit hard to read (punctuation would be helpful)... the swap is obd2 from a 96 and the car itself is an obd1 1994, which is why I'm wondering why there was an obd2 p72 hooked up.

If the car is a 94 and still has the obd1 wiring, the OP should just get an obd1 p75 or pr4 ecu. Either will work fine assuming the swap was done correctly.

Ok, so then you unplugged the jumper, plugged in a p28, and the car started fine? If so, I'd say you narrowed down the problem to the p72 ecu or something in the obd2 jumper wiring.

If you really can't find an obd1 p75 or pr4, maybe you could sell the p72 and jumper harness and use the money to get the p28 chipped, at least with a stock LS basemap
