S300, strain gauge, dog box?
I have a PPG h series dogbox, the shifter has a strain gauge installed, and im using S300. Is anyone using S300 and clutchless shifting and if so, do you have any problems out of it, or anything i should be aware of?
thanks
thanks
I used it and it still hits the gears pretty hard because the retard function pulls timing and then puts it right back in. i talked to them and the next version of the software should allow the timing to ramp back in.
did they say anything about when the update would be?
i havnt used it and i wouldn't say to use it. Ramping is a big part of making it all smooth, danny can attest to **** breaking...the timing for that stuff is CRUCIAL.

Use the clutch. Clutchless shifting is hard on parts, no matter how you do it. I spent the last year trying to get clutchless shifting to work without breaking. I am giving up and clutching from now on.
i wouldnt say to give up to others though. If you want to do it, have someone that knows how to do it set it up for you or work on it slowly with money behind you.
I was going to let JJspec or Ed @ balanced set it up, if they can get it hitting smooth I might try it. Hondata dosent wanna help, they won't respond.
Thanks for the help

I was thinking about this and couldn't you just ramp the timing back in on the timing map for the given rpm where you land after your shifts, the only time you will see that rpm is after a shift?
That would work I would think. You do have a variable though and that is the driver consistantly shifting at the same point I am thinking. You could probably build in some room for error though.
if you shift at 10000 in every gear...you are not gonna land on the rpm everytime...so you could have dead spots on the map for the other gears.
