Does having an alignment effect horsepower gains when getting it tuned?
I'm about to get my car tuned, and I was wondering if I should get an alignment before going to get it tuned or if I can get it tuned without getting it aligned first? My car's alignment isn't that great and was wondering if I should do it before I tune it? I've read somewhere that if the alignment on the car is really bad, it'll rub and shack really bad on the dyno and not put out as much power as you expect. Please correct me here if I'm wrong.
I cant see how it could affect your hp reading on the dyno cause it's reading your motor output. But if the alignment is really bad it could be dangerous if using a roller style dyno.

i second this, if your car isnt safe to drive to get it tuned id prolly not want it on the rollers. if your toe is really off it could scrub speed and traction on the rollers which would affect the numbers.

I was thinking the same, I know it's not safe if it's really bad. But I was thinking that since it's off it would rub and lose speed when on the rollers.
Ive seen cars with bad alignments have 5-10 hp differences from run to run with no changes except from moving the steering wheel to a different spot running the run. A bad alignment will scrub off hp and mph at the track. BTW that was on a all motor car that i saw that
