i just installed a set of fogs on my 98 civic. lights work fine but i was wondering if that they should shut off when the high beams are on? if so how would i go about wiring them to do that? thanks

 

The fog lights should be on its own switch and should not go off when highbeams are on. Unless you turn them off yourself.

 

so do the factory foglights not go off when the high beams are turned on? a state inspector said they have to turn off when high beams are turned on. i just want to know how to do this

 

instead of the wire being tapped into the parking lights tap into the low beam. just cut that wire from parking light connects to the relay and tap into low beam wire its usually blue wire or white... why bother doing that since its illegal to drive with high beams on. new toyotas are like that. fogs turn off when high beams are on. doesnt make sense cause if you cant see with your low beams and why turn off our fogs to use high beams. good luck with that i wouldnt bother unless its a fixaticket.
