i am new to the forum and i just got a 91 wagovan awd. i want to kep the awd so i want to stay with the d16 motor but i do want to run a small turbo set up on it. 6-10 lb bost on a sts set up. not alot of room in the front of the little thing. i have a gerett t25 and most everything i need. i just want to know what motor i should biuld. i want something that can rev out too.

 

What I would recommend is that you get one of these D series. JDM D15B, D16Y8, D16z6.

Usually people would turbo those D series since they are practically the best D's you can get.

I've seen a video on youtube where a guy turboed a D16z6 AWD and it looks like it drove awesome.

Epic tuning has a AWD civic running a HIGHLY boosted Z6. Makes a lot of power, and jumps from the line. youtube it.

 

d16z6. stay away from d16y8 blocks, though their heads are fine to use. perfect to use with vitara, they have an excellent squelch pad

z6 blocks have the best oiling, Y8 blocks love to spin bearings if you are not careful, and the oldeer blocks are, well, older
