Need advice on turbo upgrade for s2k
Currently we are running a 35r that made 670hp. We busted the **** out of the tranny twice and are in the process of ordering ppg dogbox. While we are upgrading the tranny...we want to go with a more aggressive turbo setup. I have talked to pretty much every company and i get mixed response. I limited the choices to the following 3 turbos. precision 6765, garret 37r, borg warner s372. They all have their advantages and disadvantages. Anyone have any first hand experience on any of these turbos on s2k's. our goal is to make over 800hp and go deeeep into the 9's.
By my experience, my choices will be a Precision PT-6765 Billet T4 Ball Bearing.
I think the 6765 Billet is by far the best overall turbo out there right now. The spool up is great & the horsepower is crazy!
There are cars out there right now making 900+whp on a T3 .82 A/R!!!
I'm currently running a Precision 6265 Billet .82 A/R T3 & I made 710whp @ 29psi so far...
Red Star Motoring 8 sec. S2000 is running a GT4294R .

Do they make the 6765 in a divided t4 with a big exhaust housing and possibly the h-cover?
Thanks again for the input!!
i dont know how you could have a 37R and a 372 in the same category. The 37r is more comparable to a S366. the 372 is more like a 42R.
I run a S366 and love it. I dont think you could make 800whp but close. Borg warner makes a great turbo. Ive always been a precision guy but recently had some issues with one of their turbos and it left a bad taste in my mouth. The customer service could have made up for the problems i was having but unfortunately that just made it worse.
Id go with the S372 or a 42R

Does the ball bearing make that much difference? There cars that are making 900+.... are these s2k's. Im running the 6765 on my b series and lovee it but i cant see it makin 900+ on a honda unless there are pushing 40+ psi...

I have a couple of customers with 6765 Billet on EVOs that are making 900+whp, but I know for a fact that the S2000 motors are way more efficient than the EVO motors :p
If I'm making 710whp @ 29psi with a PT6265 Billet (62mm) T3 .82 A/R, what makes you think that you can't make 800+whp with a 6765 Billet (66mm) T4 housing...
If you have the old 6765 the most we have seen is around 750-770whp max @ 34-37psi.
The difference between the old 6765 vs the NEW 6765 Billet is around 150-175whp depending on the motor.
The biggest T4 housing they make on the 6765 Billet is .96 A/R T4 & on the Inlet is H-cover. Precision doesn't make that turbo divided

If you want to go a little bigger, you can go with the PT-6768 Billet which is rated 35hp more than the 6765 Billet. We use this one on a H22 that we dyno last week and the customer had an old 6765 & swap to a 6768 Billet and the car gain @ 15-16psi about 110-120whp more than before, imagine what it would do @ 35psi

***Remenber this, is not how much power you make. The keys of this is, how the power is made!
*** Hope this can help,
Fernando @ CFT
