Is the sceen dirty on the 'noid gasket?

Does your speedometer work? VTEC works on speed input, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. Since you changed the oil, we can rule that out. You changed the vtec solenoid, and it still doesn't work... this leaves coolant temp, and VSS input. It's either one of the two... My buddy's Accord did this last year. The car would barely get warm, he had no vtec, and he running on limp mode. We pulled the codes and it was for the coolant temp sensor... $24 later for a new sensor, the car worked fine after that.

the above is very good advice. based on your compression numbers, that is NOT it. get the scan tool and verify the o2 is going into closed loop. watch the coolant temp and see what you get.

my temp gauge is normal and there isnt a code being thrown . the car isnt in any type of limp mode it revs smooth no bog not cut off and the speedo works fine it just doesnt hit vtec ? it started by hitting vtec for about 1500rpms then it would cut out and now it doesnt hit at all . i should also mention that i have a vafc-2 but i cant see it being that cause i havent tingkerd with the controls for it so .... maybe it could be a loose wire were it splices into the ecu harness ?

the vafc 2 could be wired wrong, and or you could have it set to take over vtec without setting where it actually happens. lastly you could have a loose connection somewhere. the vtec plugs is a common place

ahhh...if the oil pump is failing and oil psi is low, yes this could be a problem. very hard on rings and bearings as well. also double check the vafc settings, you may just bypass its vtec function and see if it comes back if other solutions do not work. vtec is fairly simple to troubleshoot. it's also possible the solenoid or oil switch on it failed, they do from time to time.

you would need to rig up some way to check oil psi, also you want to check coolant temp at the ecu, not the gauge. if you don't have a scan tool these are screaming deals right now. this model has a live data feed that monitors ecu function live. even closed loop a/f
