Default DOHC ZC distributor question

I just replaced the dstributor on my DOHC ZC, and the car seems to be running fine but I have a quick question. I remember when I swapped the motor there were 2 wires on the ZC distributor that I had to swap (the 2 white wires if I remember correctly). My question is this: on the new dizzy, do I also have to swap those 2 wires? I would think that I would since both units are the same, but I wanted to double check first before I start swapping wires around.

Another quick question which may or may not be related.....Before I swapped out the dizzy I was just getting a CEL for the TDC sensor (the reason I replaced the dizzy). Now I'm getting a code 4. I know that's the crank position sensor. Is there any possibility that this is a related problem, or do I have a completely new issue to track down?

you don't need to change any wiring

so, before you were getting code 8 and now you are getting code 4? - either one usually means that you have a bad distributor or something wrong in the wiring - since you weren't getting code 4 before, and now you aren't getting code 8, i would guess that the wiring is o.k. - i would try another distributor

I just put a new distributor in the car, so I really don't think that's the issue. Also, I thought the crank position sensor was located on the end of the exhaust cam on the ZC and not in the distributor.

there is 4 jens of zc motors the last being obd1 with the crank angle sensor in the dizzy, if ur keeping the car obdo u have to use the older dizzy like out of a d16a1 integra motor and the crank angle is on the other cam and must be wired up
if u dont have the crank angle sensor on the end u need obdo1 dizzy and plugs and the crank angle must be hooked into the dizzy plug
u can also make the obd1 zc motor obdo u just have to add the crank angle sensor and wire it up and use the older dizzys
let me know if theres anything else i can help with

It's OBD0. I replaced the dizzy with a TD03U. The first one I got was bad and the car wouldn't even start. Sent that one back and got a replacement. Now the car starts and runs, but it's throwing a code 4 and running in limp mode.

so u have the crank angle sensor hooked up then
c1 blue green wire goes to b10
c2 blue yellow wire goes to b12
and it should be on the other cam then the dizzy looks lik this motor
if this is how u have it hooked up then the crank angle sensor is bad get a new one its only two bolts to replace...

also you might try checking the timing belt to make sure it's not off a tooth

I'm currently running a pm6 out of an si. In addition to everything else I think I may have a bad ecu. I've been getting a code 7 since I did the swap in January but the tps is wired correctly and until recently I haven't had any issues. I picked up a new cylinder position sensor this morning and will be putting it in when I get home.

why are you changing the cylinder position sensor? the code for the cylinder sensor is code 9 and a bad cylinder position sensor is extremely rare - if you have code 4, one possibility is that the intake camshaft timing is not correct, as IndySporty said

only problem with that is what you are describing is not the crank sensor but is the cylinder sensor - the crank sensor is in the distributor

OBD0 DOHC ZC distributor is a TD03U which is the same as 88-89 (not 86-87) Integra

the best ECU is the JDM PM7 which is the factory ECU for the engine - the 88-89 Integra PG7 ECU will also work just as well

None of the DOHC ZC's were/are VTEC.
