Default tuning with Flash Pro

I know flash pro is a baby Kpro ive done a lot of researching on it....the only thing i cant seem to find information on is if you are able to eliminate the 3rd gear speed senor that the Z3 trans has and replace it with a A3 6speed, which does not have the speed sensor. Ive been though so much crap with my trans...1st-4th rebuild, 3rd 4th shifter fork breaking, syncros going bad...ext... all with less then 30k on the car and the last time i tried to put the A3 trans in only to find out you cant...so just trying to get some feed back on this...im tired of pulling the trans out of my car

I don't know what your doing but I have over 30K on my 07 Si and it still shifts great other than 3rd every once in awhile feels weird, but I've learned to live with it.

If you are breaking shift forks you are not shifting correctly.

I do occasionally drive it hard...but i have had a lot of trans problems...regardless. My hatch never has problems...its not how i drive because i dog the heck out of my hatch...The Si for some reason just doesn't like me and the 3rd 4th shifter fork broke on a down shift coming to a red light...

Why would you want to remove the 3rd gear speed sensor? At any rate fpro now does have provisions to change the sensor reading to the ecu or to the dash display or both if you so desire.

flashpro has a speed compensator feature that u can use to set the correct speed, whether you change a final drive, or you get different size wheels/tires. it also has a speed limiter function.

AJP if you remove it then you able to run a rsx trans so you can just swap trans if somthing goes worng...thats why...the rsx trans do not have the speed sensor...and Greg yes i did have nitrous on it for a while but if wasnt really raced on it...i maybe went threw 4 whole bottles

something that i was thinking on the way home from the shop with you I thought that you have changed the clutch a lot and put up to a stage 4 in the car. i think that with the combination of a stage 4 and even now the stage 2 clutch just weakend up your stuff.

I doubt put in a stage 2 or 4 clutch would weaken the tranny. Unless he put slicks on, he wasn't gaining anymore grip. Maybe when he or anyone else was putting the tranny back together they did it wrong....Easy to do.

I have over 400whp and no problems here. And I don't believe any of the AJP owners have had problems other than needing a clutch upgrade. Even the people that have built their motors and are running 500 to 600 wheel hp are doing it on the stock tranny.

Yes this is also true AJP...However, ask anyone who has a k car and runs it hard..the trans are weak. Its just a flaw they havent fixed yet. Maybe you haven't had any trouble but i know of many ppl who have. And it was rebuilt correct. Also putting a stiffer clutch is harder or your trans. well not actually the trans it self but the it does make the clutch slave/master work hared to engage and disengage the clutch. Who knows its off topic i just want to know if you can tune out the speed sensor or not...and greg no unless you are going to a dog box and **** you cant do anything to the trans as of yet. Ive looked believe me....lol

A3 6 speed or A2 6 Speed? The K20A3 is 5 speed.

If you really think about it the 5 speed is really more ideal for high powered and FI cars as the gears are taller and spaced out further. The main benefit of the K series 6 speeds is the gears are close ratio. A lot of draggers and FI guys often go for the 5 speeds. You will NEVER use the 6th gear in racing.

6th gear is mostly for highway fuel economy.

For drag, it makes sense you'd want the fewest shifts as possible.

i don't see how the a2 tranny would be any better than the z3; they have their share of 2nd and 3rd problems as well. if you have a warranty on the car still then just use that; see if you can get the tranny completely replaced since you've had so many problems with this one.

i've heard on 8th civic that the z3 tranny has carbon synchros while the a2/z1 has the standard brass ones. i haven't looked into it myself too much so i'm not sure if it's true. also, you can't forget about the lsd on the z3 . and yes, the rsx has the shorter 6th, with 1st-5th being the same.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Just outta curiousity, are they actually measurably better than the rsx synchros? Can they be used in the rsx tranny if a synchro goes out?

The syncros ive pulled out of my trans have not appeared to be carbon coated...they look like anodized steel...and VLADD i do beleive that you could use the syncros, i have a 3rd 4th shifter fork out of a RSX trans now. Also VLADD i have a ACT clutch and a Competition clutch 8lbs flywheel...not to mention other mods that will void any warranty i have/had. Its just a pain in the *** like you wouldn't believe pulling/putting the trans in and out/ rebuild it. also putting a 5spd in your car would make it much slowed unless it was boosted. you would also lose a lot of acceleration.
