Default gasket or Permatex?

for like your oil pick-up tube or oil pump when putting it back on, some old timer told just use cardboard with the permatex, like from cereal boxes what are your thoughts?

your serious? you always use a gasket if a gasket is provided or necessary. You dont half *** that kinda stuff with permatex.

LOL did he tell you to pour motor oil and sawdust into your car if it knocks too? Jesus, can't beleive he even suggested that. Do right or do it twice. Or three times.

only if you must then use a cardboard or buy gasket material at least, and just cut a piece to you're dimensions. i personally would not use cardboard and room temp vulcanize, unless i needed the car running asap.most paper gaskets you can get by, but new gaskets are cheap insurance
